Inwa
Inwa is an ancient imperial capital of successive Burmese kingdoms from the 14th to 19th centuries. Nowadays, Inwa is a small town south of Amarapura.
The former capital is a popular day-trip tourist destination from Mandalay. The attractions in Inwa include Nanmyint Watch Tower, Maha Aungmye Bonzan Monastery, Bagaya Monastery, the lacquerware factory and Inwa Bridge spanning the Ayeyarwad River.
