Bac Kan

Bac Kan, also known as Bac Can, is a mountainous region in the northern part of Vietnam. With an area of 4859.4 square kilometers, it adjoins many other provinces such as: Cao Bang in the north, Tuyen Quang in the west, Lang Son in the south-east and Thai Nguyen in the south. Most of Bac Kan’s surgace are mountains and hills, accompanied by a complicated network of springs, streams and rivers.

Based on its location, Bac Kan has 02 main seasons: dry – cold and rainy hot. While from April to October, the province’s dry and cold weather makes Bac Kan look like a land in the temperate sone of the world, from November to December the frequent tain and th high temperature absolutely create a typical tropical scene there. Especially in the north Bac Kan, the cold season lasts for a longer time. The annual average temperature is 25 degree Celsius, a favorite and ideal climate for tourism. But the annual rainfall is quite high (around 1.400mm – 1.800mm). 

Bac Kan has untouched natural scenery of endless primitive forest with previous flora and fauna. Thousands type of mineral can be found in this province beside a bunch of interesting sights attract tourists every year:

+ Dau Dang Waterfall
+ Puong Cave
There are also many traces and relics from the revolution of Vietnam in the 1940s.  Others, Bac Kan is famous for the many traditional festivals of the ethnic groups residing there.
